Hi! I’m Alex, TransPonder’s Resource Navigator and resident Community Health Worker. I am a queer transmasc CHW with a BS in Sociology, concentrating on queer studies and psychology. Outside of work, I enjoy writing comix, building puppets, and playing Deltarune. A CHW is a frontline public health worker who is either a part of, or trusted by, the community they serve. CHWs work to support and improve their communities health through advocacy, resource navigation, and advocacy. As a CHW, I research, compile, and share available community resources with folks looking for assistance navigating complex social health services. Some services I provide include assistance with finding a medical provider, applying for OHP, accessing SNAP benefits, finding local social support, and making referrals to trusted community partners. Please reach out to me with your resource related questions, my goal is to get folks the care they need."
